To make in microwave, combine undrained tomatoes and Velveeta in 1-1/2-quart microwave-safe dish; cover. Microwave on HIGH 5 minutes or just until Velveeta melts, stirring after 3 minutes. Remove from microwave; stir until mixture is blended. CAUTION: Dish will be hot; use hot pads. For a double recipe, microwave on HIGH 8 minutes or until Velveeta melts, stirring after 5 minutes. Drain 1 can of tomatoes if a thicker dip is preferred.

Great basic dip recipe! Depending on menu, I add precooked ground beef and chorizo sausage or shrimp and cream cheese. Everyone loves it.

Been making this for 40 years with different variations of sausage or ground beef. My husband's favorite is to use small button or stems and pieces mushrooms......makes delicious Queso Burgers!

I have made this dip for for the last twenty years or so, but I add hot or mild jimmy dean sausage to this mixture, but I do fry it up first then mix it together - absolutely fantastic. I fry the sausage like I would be making sloppy joes - give it a try.
